MSF is particularly seeking HIV specialists, pediatricians, anesthetists, surgeons, obstetricians/gynecologists,
and infectious disease specialists.
Primary care physicians undertake a combination of curative care and teaching/administrative
duties, with the balance varying according to the project. Curative care generally
takes place in clinic settings and to some degree in field hospitals or existing
hospitals. Teaching and administrative responsibilities include supervising
and training local medical staff, planning medical programs, pharmacy management
and medical supplies, and reporting on medical activities.
Essential Criteria:
A minimum of 2 years professional experience after registration (e.g 2 years experience at SHO level minimum) OR
with the introduction of the Foundation Programme in August 2005, medical doctors completing this training will be required to have successfully completed F2 plus at least 1 year post F2 professional experience
Current or recent clinical experience
Full GMC or Irish Medical Council Registration (doctors without this will need to provide a transcript of training, from a recognised training faculty and proof of original registration in the country they are registered in)
3 months working or travelling in a developing country minimum.
Assets:
Training in tropical medicine and/or infectious disease (especially
TB and HIV/AIDS)
